The National Insurance Crime Bureau reports that the number of cars being stolen since years had gradually increased top curve, in spite having all enhanced security features in automobiles. More than 100, 000 cars have been stolen every year and many of these never get recovered.

You can actually protect your sedans from getting stolen or being hijacked by following simple precautions. 

  • Do not park your vehicle in strange environment for long hours that has been never used by people.
  • Make sure you lock all doors and windows before driving off.
  • Change your routes often when you travel to any regular place.
  • Adjust your mirrors in order to have optimal all-around view of the surroundings.
  • Drive in a centre lane keeping you away from pedestrians so that you can avoid situations like picking up hitchhikers.
  • Keep eye on things that are out of ordinary. If any vehicle follows you for thirty minutes in the same lane get alert and try connecting with crime prevention bureaus.
  • If any car has old registration number such as HSG 090 T, it is a fake one, try getting separated from those cars.

  • Make use of National Insurance Crime Bureau to view the database of stolen vehicles.
  • CPIC (Canadian Police Information Centre) – public can make use of their national database to see if a motor vehicle or property has been reported stolen.
