“The pressure coming into the day was already immense. After leading the season for so long, I don’t think I could have taken someone taking the title away from me.”

Colin Turkington wins the British Touring Car Championship(BTCC),  making himself the fifth BMW driver to take home the prestigious title since 1933. He has gone through a series of 27 races to this grand finale with 249 points. With his Super2000-spec BMW 320si, he was stubborn in gaining the title.  His competitors were equally tough and the pressure was high on him. He reached his maximum points when he won the three deciding races in the final weekend. He said

“It was the race of my life,”

In 2007 he also won the BMW Sports Trophy, the renowned award for the most successful private BMW driver of the year.

Joachim Winkelhock, in his Schnitzer Motorsport BMW 318i was the last BMW driver to win the BTCC title back in 1993.

Yeah when I first read about him… I was very impressed with his hardwork and attitude as a human being more than his contribution towards BMW.
