Read on for a list of the top 10 most reliable cars over the last decade. Lets congratulate Honda Accord which ranked at number one and to Honda, Nissan and Toyota who all managed two cars in the top 10.

Honda Accord

Honda Accord

Honda Accord is a series of mid-size automobiles manufactured by Honda and sold in automotive markets throughout the world since 1976. The name Accord was chosen, reflecting “Honda’s desire for accord and harmony between society and the automobile.”

The Accords front seats provide both comfort and lateral support. The enlarged cabin can even accommodate four Big and Tall customers. The Accords rear seat can be folded to expand a class-trailing trunk thus defeating the purpose of a 60/40 split.

Subaru Forester

Subaru Forester

Subaru Forester is an all-wheel drive wagon manufactured by Subaru since 1997. Subaru Forester marketed as a Compact Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) was introduced at the Tokyo Motor Show in November 1995 and was made available for sale from February 1997 in Japan, and from 1998 in US. The name “forester” is meant to imply the vehicle is “of the forest”.

Mazda MX-5

Mazda MX-5

Mazda MX-5 is a two-seater sports roadster built by Mazda in Hiroshima. This model was introduced in 1989 and continues to be one of the best selling cars. The MX-5 has won many awards which includes Wheels Magazines Car of the Year for 1989 and 2005; Sports Car International’s “best sports car of the 1990s” and “ten best sports cars of all time”; 2005-2006 Car of the Year Japan; and 2005 Australian Car of the Year – and making Car and Driver magazine’s annual Ten Best list seven times.

The 2010 Mazda MX-5 Miatas reliability score is 6.0 out of 10 which was the Predicted Reliability rating provided by J.D. Power and Associates.

Mitsubishi Carisma

Mitsubishi Carisma

Mitsubishi Carisma is a large family car produced by Mitsubishi Motors from 1995 to 2004. Its name was derived from a combination of the English car and the Greek kharisma, meaning “divine gift”. It was developed along with Volvo, sharing its chassis with the first generation of the Volvo S40. Over 350,000 were built during its production run.

The NedCar factory in Born, Netherlands produces both Mitsubishi Carisma and Volvo S/V40, with the two cars sharing the same floor pan and a few key components.

Toyota Yaris

Toyota Yaris

Toyota Yaris is a subcompact car produced by Toyota. Between 1999 and 2005, some markets sold this car as Toyota Echo. Toyota has used “Yaris” and “Echo” names on the export version of several different Japanese-market models.

Subcompact cars dont come better with enough room and perky engines. Probably Toyota Yaris the best small car to buy.

Honda Civic

Honda Civic

Honda Civic belongs to a series of subcompact and subsequently compact cars developed and manufactured by Honda. Civic has been the second longest running nameplate in North America; only Toyota Corolla has been in production since 1968. Civic has been the top-selling car in Canada for eleven straight years as of 2008..

The 2010 Honda Civics reliability score is 8.0 out of 10 which was the Predicted Reliability rating provided by J.D. Power and Associates. This score is based on trending the past three years of historical initial quality and dependability.

Nissan Almera

Nissan Almera

Nissan Almera is a medium sized family car manufactured by Nissan from 1995 to 2006. The name Almera was essentially the European export-market name for the Nissan Pulsar / Nissan Sentra / Nissan Bluebird Sylphy.

Most of the Almeras sold in UK were hatchbacks with three or five doors but this model was different from other regions such as Ireland. While developing the second generation Almera, the company faced tough competition from the mini-MPV sector and the increasingly sophisticated European hatches.

Honda CR V

Honda CR V

Honda CR-V is a compact SUV manufactured by Honda since 1996. This model was derived from Honda Civic to satisfy a demand for a sport-utility vehicle from Honda. CR-V is Honda’s smallest SUV other than the Element model sold in Canada and U.S, and the HR-V sold in Europe.

The 2010 Honda CR-V reliability score is 9.0 out of 10 which is the Predicted Reliability rating provided by J.D. Power and Associates. This score is based on the past three years of historical initial quality and dependability.

Toyota RAV4

Toyota RAV4

Toyota RAV4 is a compact crossover SUV manufactured by Toyota. It was the first compact crossover SUV, introduced in 1994 in Japan and Europe and started its sales in North America from 1996. The huge success of the RAV4 paved the way for introduction of other compact SUVs such as the Ford Escape and the Subaru Forester.

The 2010 Toyota RAV4 reliability score is 7.0 out of 10 which was the Predicted Reliability rating provided by J.D. Power and Associates.

Nissan Micra

Nissan Micra

Nissan Micra models are available one in diesel and three in petrol. All these models offer a good blend of performance and economy. The smallest 1.2-litre petrol would be a good choice for those looking to save a few pennies.

The diesel version is even more appealing. With a gutsy 1.5-litre unit and useful turn of speed the diesel version would be more appealing. The driving experience is effortless and more comfortable while the controls are smooth and undemanding.
